Two Emirati astronauts to isolate for eight months to prepare for Mars Mission

Two Emirati astronauts have been chosen by the UAE space program to isolate for eight months to replicate the flight to Mars.

The Emirati astronauts will live in near isolation for eight months to help them prepare for the challenges of flights to the Moon and Mars. One of the astronauts will lead the mission while the other will be back up in case anything goes wrong.

The UAE astronaut will be part of a team of six working and living in the NEK complex in Moscow for eight months.

The project will measure the psychological and physiological impact on humans from living in extreme environments.

As long as we had Deliveroo and Netflix, the DubaiLAD team might have a chance!

Although as the astronauts will have to battle radiation, microgravity and loneliness, we’d probably also want a huge paycheque as well.

And if you want to check out how the astronauts will be living for eight months, you can see their new home below.

A team of astronauts have already completed four months of isolation. The new project starts in November and will last for eight months.

There’s then a final year-long mission which will be the hardest mission yet.
