Two new Coronavirus cases confirmed in UAE, 11 cases to date

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention confirms there have been two new cases of the Coronavirus. The news brings the total number of patients with the COVID19 strain of the Coronavirus up to 11 in the UAE. But in better news, three of those have now fully recovered.

The two new cases of Coronavirus in the UAE include a 34-year-old resident from the Philipines and a 39-year-old from Bangladesh. Both had direct contact with a Chinese patient recently diagnosed with the virus. They are both in a stable condition and receiving medical care.

The Ministry was quick to report that all people in direct contact with coronavirus patients are being checked to prevent the disease from spreading.

They also urged residents to take all necessary measures to help prevent the spread of the virus.

“The public are advised to adopt protective health behaviours to avoid infectious diseases. Wash hands with soap and clean water. And cover the mouth when coughing or sneezing to stop the spread of germs and viruses,” the ministry said.

The Coronavirus has killed over 2,000 people and infected nearly 80,000. But very few deaths have occurred outside of China, especially Wuhan where the virus originated.

Plus, in a weird twist, this book from 39 years ago seems to have predicted part of the outbreak!
