Two new low-cost airlines, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, have just launched in the nation’s capital.
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi is a joint project between Etihad and Air Arabia. And while it only flies to two routes in Egypt at the moment, it’s hoped the airline will expand across the region.
Their first flight took off on July 14 to Borg El Arab Airport in Alexandria, Egypt.
Joining Air Arabia in the nation’s capital is Wizz Air Abu Dhabi.
They started flying out of Abu Dhabi on July 1 with a twice-weekly schedule to Budapest. And like Air Arabia, they’re a low-cost airline with return fairs to the Hungarian capital starting from AED320.
Wizz Air are then expanding their roster to include flights to Poland, Bulgaria and Romania from September onwards. And further flights to Cyprus, Athens and Egypt from October.
flydubai meanwhile have resumed flights to 24 destinations. And they’re hoping to have flights scheduled to over 60 destinations by the end of the summer.
