Two UAE Universities make it into the Times Higher Education Top 50

Two of the Universities in the UAE have made it into the Times Higher Education Top 50 in Asia for the second year running.

The Times Higher Education Rankings pull together the best Universities around the world and by region. And once again there are two from the UAE.

Khalifa University is the highest placed University from the UAE sitting at number 31. They’re followed by the United Arab Emirates University (pictured) who have moved up 11 places from last year to 38.

Sharjah University meanwhile broke into the Top 200 for the first time at 169.

The Top 10 list is predominantly made up of Universities from China, Singapore and Hong Kong.

“The performance for UAE Universities is relatively stable,” Ellie Bothwell, the Times Higher Education rankings editor told The National.

“The United Arab Emirates University improved on teaching environment, research environment and citations in particular and that is worth quite a lot in the rankings.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, recently congratulated UAE graduates on their success.
