UAE announces bonus scheme for emergency workers

The UAE Cabinet has approved bonuses for vital emergency workers during the Coronavirus pandemic to reflect their amazing work.

The bonus system was approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai during a virtual Cabinet meeting yesterday. And the news was announced via his Twitter profile.

Working in the Emergency Services is one of the toughest jobs out there. And that’s especially true when you’re faced with the Coronavirus pandemic.

So big love to all the Emergency Workers in the UAE. And we love that the UAE has officially recognised their service with this bonus scheme.

UAE launches new campaign to get residents home

In other news, the UAE has stepped up its efforts to bring over 200,000 UAE residents back home.

While some residents have been able to start returning to the UAE, tens of thousands have been stranded across the world after borders closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The first phase of the campaign to get UAE residents back home took place between March 25 and June 8. The UAE initially prioritised humanitarian cases and families and relatives that had been split up. The news comes as the UAE starts to prepare to reopen its borders to the world.
