UAE residents need to be vaccinated AND have a negative PCR test to attend events from June 6

The UAE will limit all upcoming events to vaccinated residents and those with negative PCR test results from June 6 onwards according to a top official.

This includes all sport, art, social and cultural events.

The news was announced by Dr Farida Al Hosani, the official spokesperson for the UAE Health Sector.

As well as being vaccinated, all those attending events in the UAE must present a PCR test taken no more than 48-hours before the event.

Residents must present their Al Hosn app which needs to have the “the letter “E” visible” Al Hosani said.

Dr Hosani also confirmed that 78.11 per cent of eligible residents have had their jab in the UAE. And that rises to nearly 85% for the elderly.

Dr Hosani also confirmed booster shots would be given around six to with months after the second dose.

“The duration might differ from vaccine to vaccine, but it’s expected that after six to eight months … most of the Covid vaccines will require a booster dose,” she told Dubai Eye radio.
