With the world on a global lockdown following the Coronavirus pandemic, it’s been tricky for some UAE residents to find their way home.
The UAE Government have been working hard to fly tourists to their home countries and return UAE residents home. But it’s taken weeks and months with borders closed and many airlines flying reduced schedules.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship have now announced they’ll be processing UAE residency holders from June 1 for those stranded outside the country.
To apply, register for a UAE Resident Entry Permit here.
“The UAE is keen to facilitate the procedures for holders of UAE residency visas who are stuck outside the country and reunite them with their families who were affected by the precautionary measures taken by the country in light of the current exceptional circumstances to combat Covid-19,” the federal authorities were quoted by state news agency Wam.
The #BringBackUAEresidents hashtag was trending on Monday night on Twitter as friends and family urged the UAE government to help step in and get residents back home.
Staying with visa news, the UAE government also announced it was cancelling all visa fines.
