Ras Al Khaimah Royal, Sheikh Saqr bin Tariq bin Kayed Al Qasimi was killed instantly in a tragic motorbike accident in the emirate on Saturday 30th November. He was aged just 25.
Sheikh Saqr bin Kayed Al Qasimi passes away following motorbike accident
Ras Al Khaimah Police shared details about the motorbike accident, stating the Royal passed away at 12:30 am on Saturday, 30th November after crashing his motorbike into another vehicle in Al Dhait. A local newspaper reports the 25-year-old had little time to switch lanes after a car “jumped” in front of him.
Sheikh Saqr hails from the Royal Al Qasimi family, the rulers of Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah. He worked as the First Lieutenant officer with RAK Police, and was reportedly the first to join the Special Forces Squad of the emirate.
While the country mourns Sheikh Saqr’s death, Ras Al Khaimah Ruler His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi was joined by Sheikhs to perform funeral prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. The burial took place at Al Qawasim Cemetery. Condolences were offered by Royals from Ajman, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Fujairah.
