UAE slashes DEWA water and electricity prices

2020 might have started badly (understatement of the year right there) but it’s ending on a high note as the UAE have made big cuts into your DEWA bill.

The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy has announced it’s reducing its fuel prices for electricity by 23% from December 1.

And the water reduction is even more at 33%.

Which all means your DEWA bills should come down a LOT from this month onwards.

The decision was taken to reflect ‘the Supreme Council’s commitment to enhancing Dubai’s prestigious position in providing electricity and water services at globally-competitive prices.’

A decision which we can very much get on board with!

And with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park due to be fully online by 2030, a lot of that energy will be from a sustainable source: the sun!

UAE National Day rules announced

With a five-day weekend coming up, the UAE has announced a series of National Day rules including details on family gatherings and public places.

Family gatherings must be for no more than 20 people. And all guidelines must be followed at all times.

These include wearing a mask over your mouth and nose and keeping a 2m distance at all times.

They’ve also suggested staying away from crowded places if possible. And if you are in a public place, to maintain your 2m distance at all times.

Enjoy your National Day celebrations and make sure to follow the rules!
