UAE slowly returning to ‘normal’ as Covid-19 rates drop

The UAE authorities have confirmed that Covid-19 infection rates continue to fall and that they’re beginning a ‘gradual’ return to normal.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced the news yesterday at their weekly briefing.

A large part of the reduction of Covid-19 is thanks to the vaccine rollout in the UAE. An impressive 77.91% of the total population has had one dose. And 69.35% have received two doses.

And the NCEMA announced a series of measures to ensure the UAE remains a ‘safe tourism’ destination.

These included ‘travellers follow travel protocols’ and they ‘travel to green listed countries.’ They also asked tourists to ‘comply with precautionary measures as stipulated by WHO & to get health insurance covering Covid-19.’

The UAE continues to lead the way with testing.

The MoHAP announced that it conducted 296,686 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

The UAE registered 1,539 new coronavirus cases and 2 deaths in the last 24 hours.

And the total number of recoveries in the UAE is now 652,180.
