UAE sprint star runs in the Olympic 100m this Saturday

The UAE has sent six athletes to the Olympic Games in Japan and UAE sprint star Hassan Al Noubi is one of our high hopes in the 100m.

He runs in the 100m heats on Saturday at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.

And you’re going to have to set your alarms as his heat is at 6 am!

The 100m is the most prestigious event at the Olympics. And as the UAE national 100m and 200m champion, Al Noubi is our best hope.

Alongside that, he’s also won 15 local championships. Officially making him the fastest man in the country.

And on Saturday morning he goes head to head with some of the best in the world.

The favourite is Trayvon Bromell, who has the fastest time in the world this year at 9.77 seconds. And at 5ft 8in, he’s proof you don’t need to be built like Usain Bolt to make it in the sprinting world!

But as you can see from the video below, Al Noubi is very, very sharp himself!

Good luck on Saturday morning, the DubaiLAD team will be watching!

Our best medal home might be in the Judo, however.

Judoka Victor Scvortov was a bronze medallist at the 2014 World Judo Championships and the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.
