UAE to test all residents for Coronavirus

The UAE has announced it plans to test all nine million residents in the UAE for Coronavirus as it takes its testing initiative nationwide.

The UAE has already tested over two million residents across the UAE, making the UAE into one of the world-leaders.

The news to test all UAE citizens for Coronavirus was announced by the UAE’s government news agency WAM who quoted The Ministry of Health and Prevention.

‘In a statement, the Ministry affirmed its aim to expand the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatments.’

Coronavirus latest in the UAE

The good news is that the UAE has recorded more recoveries than infections for the third day in a row. A total of 745 new recoveries were recorded on Sunday, pushing the total number to 21,806. In contrast, there were 540 new Covid-19 cases, with 38,808 in total. To date, there have been 276 Covid-19 deaths in the country.

The UAE has also been busy donating Personal Protective Equipment, having just donated 6 tonnes to the UK. That brings the total donated by the UAE to 716 tonnes of medical aid.

“The UAE is committed to helping fight Covid-19 wherever it can and has donated aid to 63 countries around the world,” said UAE Ambassador to the UK, Mansoor Abulhoul.
