UAE workers now allowed 30 days paid leave a year

The UAE Government has just announced a new law which means workers will be entitled to 30 days paid leave a year.

According to the UAE Gazette, the new law of 30 days paid leave applies to workers who have been with the company for over a year.

If the worker has been there between six and 12 months, they’re entitled to two days of paid leave per month.

The new law comes into effect on February 2. And the full title, which you might want to quote to your boss is…

Abu Dhabi: Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 on the regulation of labour relations,

The law also explains that part-time workers’ leave will be calculated on the number of hours they work. But it will still follow the same guidelines as explained above.

The good news doesn’t stop there, however.

If you don’t use up your full holiday allowance, you can carry it over until the following year.
