There have been many twists and turns in 2020, but surely no one predicted that the UFC would be coming to Abu Dhabi for a month-long Fight Island including UFC 251!

It’s brilliant news for UFC fans in the UAE, and the news gets even better as they’ve announced the bill for the fight on July 11. And there are three Championship bouts in total including some big big big match-ups.

Kamaru Usman takes on Gilbert Burns in the Welterweight divsion while Alexander Volkanovski partners up with Max Holloway for Featherweight. And Petr Yan takes on Jose Aldo in the Bantamweight to complete the men’s fights.

The women’s division meanwhile sees Jessica Andrade take on Rose Namajunas in the Strawweight division followed by Flyweight’s Amanda Ribas and Paige VanZant.

Fight Island

As we announced last week, Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island is to host Fight Island for a series of four fights.

UFC 251 will kick off the three-week MMA battle on July 11. There are then three other bouts scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, Saturday, July 18 and the following Saturday, July 25.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, there won’t be any crowds at the fights, so no tickets. But you’ll be able to get UFC 251 on pay-per-view for July 11.
