UFC Fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov May Fight In Dubai This September

Former UFC star Brendan Schaub hinted UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov could fight in Dubai .

“Khabib’s next fight might be in Dubai in September”

In an interview on Joe Rogan’s podcast, PowerfulJRE, Brendan Schaub talked through what could happen in a Dustin Poirier-Khabib Nurmagomedov fight and then revealed Khabib’s next fight might happen in Dubai this September. He said, “I heard Khabib’s next fight might be in Dubai in September,” to which, Rogan said “Khabib vs Dustin, woof. That’s going to be wild.”

Rumours about Khabib fighting in Dubai swirling

Even though the fight isn’t official, but the reigning lightweight champion hinted his next fight could happen in Dubai. Earlier this month, while giving a speech at a Russian University, Khabib said, “I just came back from Dubai. And very soon news is coming. Very soon.” He also said a fight with Floyd Mayweather is unlikely because they “couldn’t come to an agreement with UFC.”

Dustin Poirier vs Khabib Nurmagomedov

On Saturday, Dustin Poirier won the interim title after edging Max Holloway in a five-round brawl, and UFC President Dana White confirmed the 30-year-old will get a shot at Khabib Nurmagomedov in September. He told MMA Fighting, “Yes, that’s the fight, Poirier will fight Khabib next. Probably in September.”

“Unless something happens to Dustin Poirier, he gets hurt or gets injured or something happens, he’s got the fight,” he added.
