Floyd Mayweather announces the two 2020 fights against McGregor and Nurmagomedov via Instagram moments before Conor clinched his UFC comeback win.
The fights of the decade already?
The dust has barely settled from McGregor’s 40-second victory against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone (which we called, btw!). And the UFC machine is in action looking forward to the next fights.
And if you thought the McGregor come-back was big news, just wait for this…
Floyd Mayweather has announced he’s taking on Conor McGregor AND Khabib Nurmagomedov in UFC this year!
Talks have already taken place
UFC boss Dana White was quick to confirm that the fights were likely to go ahead.
“Floyd and I have been talking tonight,” White said. “We’re doing something with Floyd. There’s so much going on, but Floyd is in our plans and we are in Floyd’s plans this year. We’ll end up doing something.”
Ahead of the fight, McGregor spoke about a possible rematch with Mayweather.
The Notorious said: “I’d like to rematch Floyd. I think we should rematch Floyd. I mean, he’s flirting with it, and they want all this. And he can go and pick someone else. It’s not gonna be the same. It’s not. I’ve done phenomenal in that bout.”
So that’s two more must-watch UFC bouts coming in 2020, lucky us! We’ll be back before the fight with a full video and text preview from the UFC Gym and ex-fighter Krzysztof Soszynski.
And with predictions like this, we think you should tune in too!
How: Knockout in the first round. Watching McGregor’s latest videos, I can feel he’s trying to rejuvenate himself. If it does go past the second round, I definitely think Cowboy has a really good chance of winning. But if McGregor keeps it in the first round, he’s going to knock Cerrone out.
