UK to end quarantine for UAE visitors from October 4

It’s been a tough time for British expats in Dubai recently, but life is going to get easier as the UK is relaxing its quarantine rules.

Vaccinated UAE nationals and residents will no longer need to quarantine when visiting the UK from October 4.

The UK is changing its travel rules at the start of October. The previous traffic-light system will be replaced by a green or red system. And the UAE is part of the new system allowing travel between the two countries.

Time to start booking those trips back home for a cozy – and cold! – British Christmas!

As well as relaxing travel rules with the UAE, the UK is making travel easier between Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Oman, Bangladesh, The Maldives and Kenya.

Abu Dhabi relaxes travel and visit restrictions

The UK isn’t the only place making it easier to travel.

People visiting Abu Dhabi will no longer need to get tested for Coronavirus before they visit the UAE’s capital as they’ve relaxed restrictions.

The Abu Dhabi authorities announced the news comes into effect from today, Sunday, September 19.

The decision has been made after Covid-19 cases dropped in Abu Dhabi. As of last week, just 0.2% of people were found to have coronavirus.

People previously visiting Abu Dhabi had to prove to police at the border they had a recent negative PCR test for Covid-19. This measure had been in place since July 2, 2020.
