Yesterday evening’s storm was pretty dramatic, with heavy rains and strong winds across our country, including the incredible moment when a lightning bolt struck The Burj Khalifa.

Saturday’s wild weather had people in Downtown boulevard running for cover, but it also led to some spectacular images and videos posted online. The storm was so crazy that the tallest skyscraper on the planet, Burj Khalifa was struck by a lightning bolt, at 828 metres. Our very own Crown Prince, Fazza captured the epic moment too. Low temperatures across UAE
From Al Ghweifat in Abu Dhabi to Wadi Shahah in Ras Al Khaimah, most parts of the UAE have experienced low temperatures, ranging from 8.0-22.7° Celsius. The coldest temperatures recorded today were Jebel Yanas at 15.3°C, Al Heben mountain at 14.1°C, Jebel Hafeet at 12.4°C, Jebel Yibir at 11.4°C and Jebel Jais at 8.9°C.
Hundreds airlifted after RAK flood
Up to 500 visitors were left stranded due to a flash flood in Ras Al Khaimah yesterday, This included mountains like Wadi Ghalilah, Jebel Jais, Wadi Al Beeh and Wadi Sha’am. When alerted, RAK Police sent over 77 rescue teams to the mountains to airlift people. 300 cars were stranded in the incident, including one car swept away in the flood. Watch the footage:
