Hollywood star Will Smith became one of the first people in the world to test our Deep Dive Dubai, the world’s deepest swimming pool.
And as his Instagram video below shows, it looks ridiculously good. And also – let’s be honest – a little bit scary.
Deep Dive Dubai is the deepest swimming pool in the world and holds 14 million litres of water. And Will Smith got to show the amazing Dubai pool to his 54.7 million Instagram followers.
“So I’m always in Dubai, and a friend of mine told me I have to check out this pool. There’s something weird about it. Deep Dive Dubai, I’m about to go down. The deepest pool on Earth, 200 feet deep. Madness.”
Deep Dive Dubai is essentially an abandoned underwater city. The sunken city includes ‘ an abandoned streetscape, apartment, garage, and arcade.’ All of which can be explored while free diving or scuba diving.
The huge pool is packed with areas to explore. And it’s also covered with 56 underwater cameras so you’re always in view.
And you’ll be nice and warm in the water as it’s kept at a very pleasant 30 degrees.
There are also dry chambers at 6m and 21m into the pool where you can take a breather. Meanwhile, the water is filtered and circulated every six hours through ‘siliceous volcanic rock, NASA-developed filter technology and UV radiation.’
The project is headed up by director Jarrod Jablonski. And he’s a man who knows about diving, as he’s a record-holding cave diver and leading scuba diver.
