The Coronavirus has had plenty of benefits for Mother Earth, but no one expected that it would help two pandas mate after more than a decade trying.
The Coronavirus pandemic has given a pair of pandas in Hong Kong the time – and privacy – to get down to business.
The 14-year-old pandas have been trying to mate for 10 years. With no lucky.
But when the doors closed to the Ocean Park in January, staff began noticing a change in Ying Ying and Le Le’s behaviour.
More specifically, the pair were starting to flirt with each other, with Le Le leaving scent markings in their habitat and searching for Ying Ying’s scent.
And so, after years of trying in front of prying eyes, the two pandas finally mated behind closed doors. Hopefully, the park will be able to announce their pregnancy later this year.
Staying with the animal theme, Tiger King fans will get the chance to watch one final episode of the Netflix series this week!
