2020 has already been a year of huge change, and we’re not even halfway through! But some of the changes we’ve already seen look like they could be increasingly permanent. Including employees working from home ‘forever.’
Twitter yesterday announced that all its employees could now work from home forever according to a company-wide email from chief executive officer Jack Dorsey.
Other big employers and tech-heavyweights including Google and Facebook have extended their work-from-home policy for another year. And Amazon has extended its home-working policy until at least October.
And while many don’t have high-profile tech jobs at internet giants, the Coronavirus has showed the world that working can be a lot more flexible. Which we here at DubaiLAD very much agree with.
A spokesperson from Twitter confirmed the decision, saying the company was “one of the first companies to go to a work-from-home model” due to Covid-19.
“We were uniquely positioned to respond quickly and allow folks to work from home given our emphasis on decentralization and supporting a distributed workforce capable of working from anywhere,” the company said in a blogpost.
