In what might be the most Dubai thing ever, you can now get fine-dining food especially for children delivered to your door.
That’s right, fine dining. We’re talking about seriously posh food for children who’s go-to classics include beans on toast, fish fingers and the odd sly bogey.
The food is all the idea of LPM, a fine-dining Mediterranean restaurant in DIFC Dubai.
And the menu is confusing enough for most adults to understand, let alone children!
Starts include Ratatouille avec Feta, Croquettes de Morue (no, no idea either) and Salade de Lentilles Vertes. We can’t get brocolli into our household without a gallon of ketchup, good luck with lentils!
The mains are just as a grown-up. Coquelet au Citron Confit anyone? Maybe explaining it’s a Roast Baby Chicken marinated in lemon might not help your children eat it actually. Suggesting eating baby chicks tends to make life harder at tea time, in our DubaiLAD family experience.
Or how about Côtelette d’Agneau Vivienne. That’s grilled lamb cutlets with smoked aubergine. Nothing to do with Vivienne, whoever she may be.
The meal was overseen by the LPM General Manager, Alexandra Audon Filali whose goal was, “We wanted to choose dishes that were healthy but also tasty, so that the children could discover food that is full of flavour, with different layers and texture.”
The food is all available on Deliveroo. So at least they have your address and payment details in case you need to order in an emergency pizza 20 minutes after they refused to eat baby chicken and Viv’s lamb.
Oh. And the price? AED135 for a starter, main course and side dish.
